1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. yeast OR 1 yeast cake
3 tbsp. sugar
1/4 cup warm water
2 tbsp. shortening
2-1/2 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add milk, sugar, shortening and salt. Stir in flour. Add small additional amounts of flour until dough is not too sticky to be shaped into rolls. Knead three to five minutes. Shape into 12 to 16 rolls and place in greased 9" x 12" baking pan. Let rise for approximately half an hour. Bake at 400º F for 15 to 20 minutes or until nicely browned.
