2 Granny Smith (preferred) apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1 c. flour
1 c. milk
6 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. cinnamon
pinch of nutmeg
2 tsp butter

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 475 degrees with cast iron skillet for 5 minutes,
In mixer or blender, beat flour, milk, eggs, vanilla, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg;
set aside. Remove pan from oven, add 2 tablespoons butter and apples slices.
Saute only 1 to 2 minutes, apples should be firm.
Pour batter gently over apples so they remain on the bottom..
Bake at 475 degrees for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.

Cut in wedges.
Serve with syrup or optionally, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
