6 large cans of red kidney beans rinsed and drained
2 lbs ground beef
1 small onion diced
1 quarts tomato juice
24 oz. ketchup
2 bottles chili sauce
1/4 cup sugar
1 Tbs. chili powder
black pepper to taste

Brown hamburger with onion and drain. In a large stock pot add all ingredients and simmer two hours. Stir occasionally to prevent scorching. Can be made with dry kidney beans but they need to be soaked overnight and then rinsed and drained.

The first time I had this chili at a Hutching's Family Christmas Party I feel in love with it. Karen is gone now, but I think of her each time I make this chili.
