1 package dry yeast. 1/2 cups warm water(105) to (115). 1/2 cups. sugar 1/2. cups. shortening 2 cups milk 7 cups all-purpose. flour 11/2 teaspoons salt 1/2 teaspoons baking soda. 1/2 teaspoons. baking. powder

Dissolve yeast. in 1/2 cups warm. water,and setaside.Combinesugar,shortening,and milk in a medium saucepan:place over medium heat,stirring until shortening melts.Cool to 105 to 115.Combine milkmixture and yeast mixture in a large bowl;mix well.Add 5 cups flour;stir well.Cover and let rise in a warm place(85),free from drafts,2 hours or until doubled in bulk.Combine remaining 2 cups flour,salt,baking soda,and baking powder;mix well.Punch dough down;stir in flour mixture.Knead dough 8 to 10 minutes or until smooth and elastic.Place in a well-greased bowl;turning to grease top.Cover.Refigerate until needed.Punch dough down,and divide into fourths.Roll each into a circle about 12 inches in diameterand 1/4-inch thick;cut into 10 wedges.Roll each wedge tightly,beginning at wide end.Place rolls on greased baking sheets,points side down;curve into crescent shape.Cover and let rise in a warm place(85),free from drats,about 11/2 hours or doubled in bulk.Bake at 400*F.for 10 minutes or until loghtly browned.
