6 slices bacon
1/2 c chopped onion
1 med. clove garlic, minced
1 can (28 oz.) whole tomatoes
1 med. green pepper, chopped
2 drops Tabasco
1/2 tsp. Pepper
1 med. bay leaf
1 large carrot
2 stalks celery, sliced
2 med. potatoes, peeled & cubed
1-1/4 tsp. Salt
1 pkg. 10 oz. Frozen, pre-cooked shrimp

Fry bacon until crisp. Drain & crumble. Sauté onion & garlic in 2 T. Bacon drippings until onion is translucent. Add tomatoes, cut in small pieces , & tomato liquid. Add remaining ingredients except shrimp. (I usually add a little water - about 3/4 cup.) Bring to boiling, reduce heat & simmer, covered, about 40 minutes or until potatoes are done. Add shrimp & continue cooking until shrimp are just heated. Remove bay leaf. Garnish with bacon.
