1 Friendship Bread Starter

Once you get your starter:
Day 1 - do nothing
Day 2 - squeeze bag
Day 3 - squeeze bag, let air out of bag
Day 4 - squeeze bag
Day 5 - squeeze bag
Day 6 - Add 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup milk
Day 7 - squeeze bag
Day 8 - squeeze bag, let air out of bag
Day 9 - squeeze bag
Day 10 - pour contents into large bowl. Add 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup milk. Mix well and then take out 1 cup each into 4 lg. ziplock bags to give away as starters to others.

With what's left in the bowl, add:
1 cup oil
1/2 cup milk
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
Mix well, and then add:
2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1-1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 large box (or 2 small) vanilla instant pudding
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Grease 2 large or several smaller loaf pans. In separate bowl, combine 1/3 cup sugar and 2 tsp. cinnamon and coat bottom of baking pans. Pour in batter. Bake at 350º for 1 hour (40-45 minutes for small loaves) or until toothpick tests done.

I added the juice from crushed pineapple in place of part of the milk *use balance to come up to milk measurement) and a can of crushed pineapple along with using banana cream instant pudding instead of the vanilla. This gave the bread a tropical taste!!!

Very good! May want to keep an extra starter for yourself around the holidays. Makes a nice little gift!
