Four Strips of Bacon ( I substitute with Bac'ums-vegan version)
1 Large Onion, diced small
2 tsp. Garlic (or to taste, I love Garlic)
1/2 tsp. crushed Red Pepper
1/2 tsp. ground Cumin
1/2 tsp. ground Thyme
3 1/2 C Vegetable Broth
1/4 tsp. Black Pepper
Dash of Red Pepper Sauce (I used Tabasco)
1 bunch of Asparagus, chopped into 1 inch segments, bottom two inched disregarded
1 lb. medium cooked Shrimp, tail off
1/4 C Madeira or Sherry
Shredded Parmesan

1. Cook Bac' us with a little bit of olive oil with onion, garlic, crushed red pepper, cumin, and thyme for about four minutes, stirring.
2. At the same time, heat broth, black pepper, and hot pepper sauce in a large saucepan, add asparagus and cook for about 8 minutes or until asparagus is turning from crisp to tender.
3. Stir in onion from skillet mixture, add shrimp and Sherry or Madeira and cook for 3 more minutes.
4. Serve with a dollop of Parmesan Cheese
