3 lb cubed stewing beef
1/4 c butter
1 medium onion chopped
1 c red wine
2 cloves garlic minced
6 carrots chunked
1 16 oz can whole tomatoes
10 small pearl onion peeled
2 tbsp. chopped parsley
1/8 tsp ground thyme
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 c flour
2 beef bouillon cubes

Directions:
Directions:
Lightly salt and pepper beef cubes and coat with flour. In hot skillet sauté floured beef cubes in butter until lightly browned. In a heavy pot sauté onions until clear. Add meat, tomatoes, 3 c water bouillon, garlic, parsley, thyme, salt and pepper. Add 1 c of red wine. Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours. Add carrots, potatoes and pearl onions. Cook until tender about 1 hour.
