"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

1 chopped onion
1 large head of cabbage
1 bag of egg noodles
1 tbsp butter
garlic to taste
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Cook bacon in a large sauce pan or deep skillet with chopped onion and fry until very brown and well cooked. It is ok if it sticks a little, as the drippings are essential in this dish. When done, remove bacon and set aside.
Add a little water to the saucepan or skillet and mix up the drippings a bit. Place cabbage into the pot, and allow to cook down completely.
In a separate large saucepan, boil the egg noodles in water until cooked.
Drain noodles and mix in butter.
Cut up the bacon and set aside. When the cabbage has cooked down, add bacon and cooked noodles and mix completely.
