8 bags of hash brown potatoes (thawed)
4 cups (8 sticks) butter
8 cans Cream of Chicken soup (undiluted)
8 cups (32 oz) shredded cheddar cheese
8 cups chopped onion, do not chop really fine
4 (16 oz) sour cream
crushed corn flake crumbs for top

Directions:
Directions:
Mix butter (save enough out to mix with corn flake crumbs for top of casserole) and cream of chicken soup until warm. Add cheddar cheese until it melts. Pour mixture over has browns and mix through.
Then add onions and sour cream, mix all well.

Put in sprayed roaster. Top with about 2 cups crushed corn flake crumbs mixed with reserved melted butter. Bake at 350º for approximately 2 to 2-1/2 hrs. due to the large amount.

For years I thought that a cup of shredded cheese was 8 oz. (which is the liquid measurement). I'm just now finding out that I WAS WRONG. There . . . I said it!
