2 gallons cucumbers, cut up
1 pint coarse salt
Bluestone to cover an area ½ size of a dime (copper sulphite)

Syrup:
2 quarts vinegar
12 cups sugar
4 Tbsp pickling spice, tied in bag
Green food colouring

Directions:
Directions:
Cover cut up cucumbers with 1 pint coarse salt. Add bluestone.
Add boiling water to cover cucumbers. Let stand one week, stirring each day.
Drain and cover again with boiling water. Leave 24 hours.

Drain and cover with the following syrup:
2 quarts vinegar
12 cups sugar
4 Tbsp pickling spice tied in bag
Green food colouring
Each day for 4 days reheat syrup. These pickles will keep in a crock.
