4 eggs, beaten
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract

Filling:
1 pint (2 cups) whipping cream
1 package vanilla pudding (French instant)
1 to 1 1/2 cups milk

Frosting:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening
1-2 cups powdered sugar (to desired consistency)
dash salt
1 tsp vanilla
1/3 cup milk, lukewarm (can add 1/3 cup more if needed)

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 325º

2. Combine eggs, flour, sugar, powder and vanilla; mix well. Pour batter into a greased, wax paper-lined 9x13 inch pan and bake at 325 for 15-20 minutes, or until tooth pick comes out clean when placed in the center.

3. On a clean towel, heavily sprinkle powdered sugar and flip cake upside-down onto the powdered sugar coated towel to let cool. Peel of wax paper from cake.

4. Combine ingredients for the filling.

5. Once completely cooled, cut cake in half, horizontally. Place one piece onto a plate/platter and spread the filling evenly. Then gently place the other half of the cake on top.

6. Cover entire cake with frosting.

7. To make frosting, combine butter, shortening, powdered sugar, salt, vanilla and milk. Beat on high until well blended.
