2 lb raw shrimp shelled and deveined
12 oz beer
2 tbsp chopped onion
1 tsp salt
1 tsp chopped parsley
2 lemon slices
1 bay leaf
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp all purpose flour
1/4 tsp granulated sugar
8 oz can tomato sauce
dash cayenne pepper
4 c hot fluffy rice

Wash shrimp and pat dry on absorbent paper. Bring beer, onion, salt, parsley, lemon slices and bay leaf to a boil in saucepan. Add shrimp. Bring to a boil again, reduce heat and simmer 3 min. Remove shrimp and reserve. Strain liquid. Melt butter in saucepan. Add flour, sugar, and blend. Add shrimp liquid, tomato sauce, and cayenne. Blend and cook stirring constantly until mixture thickens and comes to a boil. Add shrimp. Heat until piping hot. Serve on hot fluffy rice.
