1 T. sugar

Directions:
This is what I do and it is always so flaky:
Put dry ingredients and shortening in bosch. Turn on high (#3) for about 4-5 seconds. Whisk in the already blended wet ingredients for about 3 seconds or just pulse until mostly blended. Gather up in hands and roll out in portions according to what you need. Keep lid on unused portions in bosch to keep it from drying out. I roll it out between 4 waxed paper sheets. Two under, and two on top. This makes two double crust pies and a little more.

Personal Notes:
This comes from a dear friend and college roommate, Kate Ashby. She is now the mother of 8 children and one of the most kitchen savvy people I know.
