7 lbs large cucumbers ( peel, quarter and seed)

Step 1
Soak in 1 c lime to 1 gallon water for 24 hours.
Wash and soak in ice water for 3 hours.

Step 2
Mix:
1 c cider vinegar
1 bottle red food coloring
1 t alum

Step 3
2 c cider vinegar
2 c water
10 c sugar
4-6 2 inch cinnamon sticks
1 pkg red hots

Directions:
Directions:
Drain cucumbers. Mix with vinegar mixture and add enough water to cover cucumbers. Simmer 2 hours. Pour off.

Boil vinegar, water, sugar, cinnamon sticks and red hots. Pour over cucumbers, let set 24 hours. Pour liquid off and boil, then pour back over cucumbers let set 24 hours. Pour off and boil. Put cucumbers in jars. Pour hot liquid over cucumbers and seal
