2 pounds cubed beef stew meat
2 Tbs oil
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 garlic clove, minced
2 C beef broth (or water)
1 onion, chopped
1 Tbs salt
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp paprika
6 - 8 carrots, quartered
4 - 6 potatoes, chunked
3/4 C water
2 - 3 Tbs cornstarch

Directions:
Directions:
In Dutch oven, brown meat in the oil. Add 2 C hot beef broth and all the other ingredients except the carrots and potatoes. Cover and simmer for 1 - 1 1/2 hours. Stir occasionally. Add vegetables. Cover and cook another 30 to 40 minutes. To thicken before serving, stir cornstarch and 3/4 C cold water together. Stir slowing into stew mixture until desired thickness. Simmer another 5 - 10 minutes.
