2 28oz cans pork and beans
1 lb bacon
1 large onion
1/2 lb brown sugar

Cut through the sliced bacon to create 1" wide pieces. Put the bacon in a heave 5 quart dutch oven and fry, breaking apart at it renders, When bacon is crispy and browned, use a slotted spoon to remove the meat from the pot and reserve on a plate for later use. Fry the finely chopped onion in the oil from the bacon until clear and starting to brown. Add the brown sugar to the onions. Add back the bacon and stir till completely combined and no lumps of sugar remain. Add the beans, juice and all from the cans. You can simmer this stovetop, or put it in a casserole and bake at 350º for 20 to 30 minutes
