1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup white sugar
5 cups flour
1 cup Crisco oil OR 1 cup butter
2 beaten eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cream of tarter
1 tsp soda (Arm and Hammer)
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour.
Cream together the oil, powdered and granulated sugars.
Mix together all ingredients and mix well.
Pinch-out a small amount of dough (Heaping tablespoon spoon in size). and shape it into small balls and place on a greased cookie sheet.
Flatten out each ball with the bottom end of a drinking glass.
Bake in a 350 degree oven for 10 - 12 minutes.
Allow cookies to cool slightly then dredge each cooking through the white sugar and arrange cookies on a serving plate or for storage and later use.

VARIANTS:
Instead of 2 tsp of vanilla use one each of vanilla and almond extract.
Instead of 1 cup of butter OR Crisco use 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup Crisco.

I use the variants and it works for me!
