1 1/4 cups sugar
1/2 cup boiling water
1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice
4 1/2 cups cold water

Combine sugar and boiling water, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Add lemon juice and cold water. Mix well. Chill. Serve over ice. Garnish with lemon slices, optional.
