Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 cup Milk, scalding hot

1⁄4 cup Water
1⁄2 cup Sugar
4 tablespoons Butter, softened
1 Egg, lightly beaten

1 teaspoon Salt
4 1⁄2 cups Bread Flour, sifted

3 teaspoons active dry yeast--Bread Machine Rapid Rise

2 tablespoons Butter or 2 tablespoons Margarine, for brushing rolls, melted

Directions:
Directions:
Heat milk to scalding--180 degrees--then let it cool to 105 degrees.
Measure water and add sugar to the water. Add lightly beaten egg, salt & butter to water/sugar mixture.

Put milk in the bottom of the bread machine followed by the water/sugar/egg mixture. Add the four and dry yeast to the liquid mixture, using a spatula slightly mix the ingredients together before turning on the bread machine to the DOUGH mode. Let the machine complete the cycle.

When cycle is completed turn dough out onto a floured surface and pinch off small chunks of dough and shape into round rolls about 1 1/2 to 1 3/4-inches in diameter. Place in neat rows, not quite touching, in a well-buttered 13- x 9- x 2-inch pan.

Cover rolls and let rise in a warm place until doubled in bulk, 30 to 40 minutes. Brush tops of rolls with melted butter or margarine, then bake in a moderately hot oven (375°F) 18 to 20 minutes or until nicely browned.
