4 Tbsp (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
1 large yellow Onion chopped
4 Cloves of garlic, chopped
1 C Ketchup
3 Tbsp Tomato Paste
1 12oz can Dr. Pepper
1/2 C Apple Cider Vinegar
1/3 C Worcestershire sauce
1/2 C packed dark Brown Sugar
2 tsp Ancho or New Mexican chili powder
1 tsp fine-ground White Pepper
1 tsp Kosher Salt

Directions:
1. Heavy saucepan, melt butter. Saute the Onion and Garlic in butter until translucent or about 10 minutes. Add all remaining ingredients and simmer for about 15 minutes blending flavors. Cook until Sauce thickens for about 20 minutes. Taste and adjust salt and pepper. Ribs will already have some seasoning on them.
2. Let Sauce cool for about 10 minutes till warm. Puree in blender to thicken. Sauce will keep, tightly covered in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
3. Brush on food 5 to 15 minutes before cooking time is finished and serve on side for additional use.
