½ pound butter
3½ cups flour
1 package yeast
½ cup milk
2 eggs
4 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder

Topping:
Apricot or plum jam
Ground walnuts
Sugar
Cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve the yeast in the milk. Do not let rise. Mix ingredients into a dough. Divide the dough into three parts. Roll out into three layers to fit a 16 x 10½ inch baking sheet. Place first pastry layer in the pan. Spread the apricot jam on the layer. Top with a mixture of ground walnuts mixed with sugar and cinnamon. Top with another pastry layer. Repeat with the jam and topping ingredients. Top with final pastry layer. Brush with a mixture of milk or egg mixed with water. Sprinkle sugar over the top. Prick all over with a fork. Bake at 350° until lightly browned.

May substitute plum jam for the apricot. May cut into small diamond shapes.
