For 8 or 9" pie shell
(Baked, then filled)

1 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 cup hydrogenated shortening (Crisco)
2 tbsp. water (cold)

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 475 degrees (very hot). Measure flour by dip-level-pour method. Mix flour and salt. Cut in shortening with pastry cutter. Sprinkle with water ; mix with fork. Round into ball. Roll out 1" larger than pie pan (roll between two sheets of handi wrap or cling wrap). Ease into pan, flute, prick pastry with fork. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Add filling according to recipe.
