1/2 Cup Oleo or shortening ( 1 stick)
2 Cups Brown Sugar (firmly packed)
2 Eggs
1 Cup Flour
2 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Vanilla
1 Cup Nuts (coarsely chopped)

Directions:
Directions:
Melt oleo over low heat or in microwave. Remove from heat and add brown sugar; stirring until well blended. Cool. When cool add eggs and mix well. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. add to sugar mixture and mix well. stir in vanilla and nuts. Spread in a well greased and floured pan.

Bake at 350º for 20-25 mins. Brownies appear to be soft when taken from oven because interior is supposed to be soft. Cut into squares while warm.
