3/4 Cup Margarine
3/4 Cup Granulated Sugar
1 Egg (beaten)
1 Tbl Vanilla
2 1/8 Cup Flour
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Cream of Tartar
1/2 tsp Salt

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt together and set aside. In mixing bowl cream together margarine and sugar. Cream until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla and mix well. Slowly add sifted dry ingredients and mix well. Roll into balls and dip in additional granulated sugar. Place on cookie sheet and press with a fork or the bottom of a glass.

Bake at 350 º for 8-10 mins.

Cookies are very crisp and flaky. Got this recipe from Geneva Smith, a neighbor to Momo and Poppo. They played Pinnochle in our card club and these were always a hit.
