1 Cup Shortening
1 Cup Brown Sugar (firmly packed)
1/2 Cup Granulated Sugar
2 Eggs (beaten)
1 tsp Vanilla
2 Cups + 4 Tbl Flour
1 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Salt
3/4 Cup Nuts (finely chopped) (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
In mixing bowl cream together shortening, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and mix well. Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt; add to mixture and blend well. Stir in nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet covered with parchment paper.

Bake at 375 º for 10-12 mins. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
