1 cup shortening
1 ½ cup sugar
3 eggs
½ teaspoon soda
3 cups flour
1 ½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon all spice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon clove
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 ½ cups raisins
½ cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, sugar and eggs together until light and fluffy. Dissolve soda in 2 teapoons water and add. Sift four, salt, all spice, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg together and add to creamed mixture. Add raisins and nuts and mix well. Drop onto a greased baking sheet. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) 15 to 20 minutes. Yield 10 cookies.
