2 cups sugar
1/3 cup white syrup
1/2 cup water
pinch of salt
2 beaten egg whites (firm)
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 to 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Directions:
Directions:
Put first 4 ingredients in pan. Bring to boil. Boil until 270'F. Remove from heat. Mix vanilla with egg whites. Pour hot mixture slowly over beaten egg whites and vanilla. Beat until gloss leaves candy. Add nuts. Drop by teaspoon onto waxed paper or pour onto greased palter and cut into squares after cool. Do not make on a cloudy or rainy day. Candy will not get hard.
