6 or 8 chicken breasts, deboned with fat removed and sliced into long strips
salt and pepper to taste
1 egg
1/4 cup evaporated milk
flour

Sauce:
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp. salt
2 to 3 Tbsp. Cornstarch + 2 to 3 Tbsp. water
1 tsp. paprika
2 tsp. soy sauce
12 to 15 maraschino cherries
12 to 15 sweet mixed pickles
1 can of drained pineapple tidbits or chunks

Beat egg with milk. Dip chicken pieces into mixture. Roll each piece in flour then deep fry until golden.
In saucepan, mix sugar, vinegar, water and salt. Simmer 5 minutes. Combine cornstarch with water, add slowly to hot mixture. Cook and stir until sauce bubbles. Add remaining ingredients.
Serve over chicken or rice.
