2 1/4 c flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 c shortening
1 c sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 c chopped pecans
1 c chopped dates
1/3 c chopped cherries ( save some pieces to place on top of each cookie)
2 1/2 c corn flakes (crushed)
Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt
In another bowl combine shortening, sugar,eggs,milk,vanilla.
Blend in dry ingredients and mix well.
Add pecans, dates, and cherries
Form balls using a tablespoon of dough for each cookie
Roll each ball into crushed corn flakes.
Place on greased baking sheet
Top each cookie with a cheery piece
Bake 375 º 10-12 minutes
Do not stack or store until cold
