1 large box of vanilla pudding mix (bake)
1 cup of raisins that have been boiled in hot water, drain
2 c. whip cream
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 T. vanilla
3 egg whites
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
3/4 cup sugar
1 baked 9 inch pie shell

In saucepan cook vanilla pudding as directed on package. Cool and add whip cream, cinnamon, raisins and vanilla. Pour into cooled 9 inch pie shell.
Meringue: Beat egg whites with electric mixer on medium speed until soft peaks form, add cream of tartar. Gradually add 3/4 cup sugar on high speed for 4 minutes, till meringue forms glossy peaks. Spread over filling. Bake at 350º oven for 15 minutes. Remove and let cool. Chill for about 3 hours before serving. Makes 8 servings. Cover what is left for longer storage.
If preferred this can be served with whip cream for those that don't want meringue.

This pie was introduced at one of the holidays by sister Janet. It became a regular at my house every holiday after that. Dave would request it.
