1/2 c flour
3/4 c sugar
2 1/2 t baking powder
3/4 t salt
1/4 c shortening
3/4 c milk
1 egg

cinnamon topping
1/3 c brown sugar packed
14 c flour
1/2 t cinamon
3T butter hard
mix these with fork and set aside

Preheat oven to 375
Mix all coffee cake ingredients, beat 1 1/2 minutes. Spread into greased pan round 9", 8x8x2, or 9x9x2 pan.

Take topping mix and sprinkle on top of coffee cake, swirling some through the cake. Bake 25 - 30 minutes.

This tastes great with cool whip or drizzle made from milk and powdered sugar! We always had it for brunch when we lived at the lake and I have continued to make it!
