2 c all purpose flour
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 c butter
1 c grated old Cheddar cheese
2 eggs
1/4 c granulated sugar
1 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl, sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter until particles are the size of small peas. Stir in cheese. In small bowel beat eggs until foamy; beat in sugar, then milk. Pour egg mixture into flour mixture, stirring only until evenly moistened. Transfer dough to buttered 9X5 inch loaf pan. Bake in 350º oven for 50 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove from pan and serve hot or cold.
