2 c. Apples (diced)
1 Egg
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 c. Sugar
1 c. Flour
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1/4 tsp. Salt
1/2 c. Nuts (optional)

SAUCE:

1/2 c. White Sugar
1/2 c. Brown Sugar
2 Tbl. Flour
1 c. Water
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 stick Oleo

CAKE: Mix apples, egg, and sugar together. Sift together flour, soda, salt and cinnamon. Combine two mixes and add nuts if desired. Pour into 9 x 9 ungreased pan.

Bake @ 350º for 30 minutes.

SAUCE: In small saucepan mix both sugars, flour, and water. Cook over medium flame until thick and clear. Remove from heat and add vanilla and stick of oleo. Stir until well blended. Pour over cake while warm.

Very moist cake. Don't take sauce off of heat too soon. It takes a very long time for it to thicken and clear.
