6 lg. Apples (Granny Smith or Jonathon)

TOPPING:
1 c. Flour
1 1/2 c. Sugar
1 tsp. Baking Powder
1 Egg
2 Tbl. Butter or Oleo (softened)

Directions:
Directions:
Peel and dice apples into a greased 9 x 9 pan. In another bowl mix together remaining topping ingredients with a fork until crumbly. Sprinkle over cut apples.

Bake @ 350º for 40 mins. or until top is brown and crunchy.

An alternative topping is made with 1 c. Flour, 1 stick Butter, 1 1/2 c. Brown Sugar, and 1 c. Quaker Oats.
