Grandma Brake’s /Carol Weibe’s Chocolate Cake:

4 TABLESPOON COCO
½ CUP SHORTENING
¼ POUND BUTTER (1/2 CUP)
1 CUP WATER

2 CUPS SUGAR
2 CUPS FLOUR
2 TEASPOON BAKING SODA
2 TEASPOON CINNAMON

½ CUP BUTTERMILK
1 TEASPOON VANILLA
2 EGGS

COMBINE FLOUR, SUGAR, SODA, AND CINNAMON.

COMBINE BUTTER, SHORTENING, COCOA, AND WATER IN PAN AND BRING TO A RAPID BOIL.

ADD DRY INGREDIENTS AND MIX .

ADD BUTTERMILK, EGGS, AND VANILLA. BEAT WELL. Pour into a greased cookie sheet (10x15x1).

Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
