2 cups flour, sifted
4 teaspoons baking powder
Pinch of salt
¼ cup butter
¼ teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons butter
¾ buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Stir together first four ingredients in a large bowl.
Cut in ¼ cup butter into flour mixture with a pastry blender until crumbly.
Add buttermilk stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.
Turn dough out on a lightly floured board and pat or roll to ½ inch thick pieces. Cut into 2 ½ inch rounds with a biscuit cutter.
Place 2 tablespoons butter in a 10 1/2” cast iron skillet.
Place in a 350 degree oven until butter melts. Remove from oven and add biscuits.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until gold brown.
Brush with melted butter.
