2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp. cinnamon

1 tsp. nutmeg

½ cup brown sugar

3 tsp. salt

1 ½ tsp. baking soda

1 cup molasses

1 tsp. dry ginger 

1 egg

1 tsp. fresh grated ginger 

1 cup molasses 

1 cup hot water

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°. Combine all the dry ingredients. Add in egg, fresh ginger, molasses, and water. Mix on low-speed for one minute and then on high-speed for about two minutes. Grease and flour a 9 inch square bread pan. Pour batter into pan. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes. Cool in pan or wire rack.
