1 c. white sugar
3/4 c. butter or margarine (room temperature)
1/4 c. molasses
1 egg
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger
Pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar (do not microwave butter) until creamy. Add egg and molasses - beat until blended. Add 1/2 the dry ingredients and mix well. Then add the other 1/2. Form into balls and then dip them in white sugar. Bake for 10 minutes at 350º F.

The tops of these will always crack. I always double the recipe because they disappear quickly.
