1 stick margarine
4 T cocoa
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 tsp vanilla

If making 5-6 layers, increase by 1/4:
2 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/4 sticks margarine
5 T cocoa
5 oz. can evaporated milk
1 1/4 tsp vanilla

Phyllis uses a cake mix and makes 5-6 thin layers of yellow cake. She frosts this cake using this icing. It is similar to the multi-layered cakes make by Deans Bakery in Andalusia.

Bring to a rapid boil and boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat; add pinch salt and vanilla. Beat until thick enough to start icing your layers.
