2c Baking soda
1c Corn Starch
1 1/2c cold water
Food Color Optional

Directions:
Directions:
Mix Baking Soda and Corn starch together in a 2Qt pot.
Stir in food coloring in to water if Desired
Stir cold water in to baking soda mixture until smooth.
Heat Mixture in pot over medium heat until it boils.
Continue Stirring while it cooks until it is the consistency of mash potatoes.
Pour mixture into a heat safe bowl and allow to cool.
Place a damp Kitchen towel over the top while it cools to prevent it from hardening.
After cooled, knead dough using corn starch to keep it from sticking to the table and make it more pliable.

This it the Recipe I used when I went into a school to make dough bird with a grade 2 class studying Ukraine. It dries normally with in 2 days when left out or can be stored in a sealed container for continued use.
