Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 1/2 C. raw peanuts
1 C. sugar
1/2 C. light corn syrup
Few grains of salt (just a quick shake of the salt shaker)
1 T. butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda (make sure it is fresh)

Directions:
Directions:
Prior to starting, butter a cookie sheet and set aside.
Mix peanuts, sugar and corn syrup with salt in large, microwave safe mixing bowl. Cook 7-9 minutes in microwave, on high, until bubbling and peanuts are lightly browned. The liquid will be caramel colored. Quickly stir in butter and vanilla. Cook an additional 2-3 minutes longer. Add baking soda and stir quickly just until mixture is "foamy". Pour immediately onto buttered cookie sheet. Let cool and then break apart. Store in air tight container.
*Tips:
The bowl gets very hot, so have your hot pads ready! Don't touch the bowl or
the candy directly.
Cooking times are approximate due to different wattages of microwaves. This
is a recipe that you need to be ready for the next step as the peanut brittle
can harden quickly
