2 lb. soup bone with meat (preferably ham)
2 qt. cold water
2 carrots, cut
4 med. potatoes, cubed
1 small cabbage, shredded
1 onion, diced
1 bay leaf
1 sprig parsley
pinch rosemary, savory, thyme, basil
dash of pepper
salt to taste
1/2hour before done, add -
2 c. tomatoes, canned or fresh

Place all ingredients in a pot. Add more water if necessary to cover soup bone. Simmer until done. Ingredients may be altered or adjusted to your preference. Shredded beets may be included if you like them (cut back on cabbage and tomatoes to half). Just before serving, cream may be added. Re-heating makes it better.
