1 cup sugar
1 cup water
2 cups raisins
¾ cup shortening
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup chopped nuts
2 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325º. Blend water, sugar, raisins,
cinnamon, nutmeg and shortening.
Boil 3 minutes. Let cool, pour ingredients in
large bowl, add baking powder, baking soda,
vanilla and nuts. Add flour last. Mix well,
pour in greased 9" x 13" pan.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
