1 Pound Fresh Cherries, pitted
1 Tbsp Packed Orange Zest
2 Tbsp. Fresh Orange Juice
2 Tbsp. Brown Sugar
1 Tbsp. Fresh Basil Chopped
1/8 Tsp Kosher Salt

Cut have the cherries in half, place whole pitted cherries and halves in a bowl, add zest and next 4r ingredients. Toss just to coat.

Cover and chill for 1 hour.

Remove cherries from the refrigerator and let stand 10-15 minutes before serving.

This is one of the best and easiest things to do with beautiful cherries. The flavors are wonderful with the fresh basil. Your guests will think you went to so much trouble....so easy!

Note: This could be served over Ricotta, very good.
I have used frozen sweet cherries with this and it really did work fine, not quite the same but definitely good. You can use other fruits as well or a combination of fruit.
