Personal Notes:
In the early 60s, when we lived in Storm Lake, Iowa, Mom was well known for her culinary talents. The local newspaper asked to interview her and share some of her best recipes, complete with photos of the family enjoying the spread! She dressed us all in the matching sailor outfits Grandma Malee Unrue had made for us the previous Easter. The newspaper reporter arrived with his cameraman, interviewed Mom and obtained three of her very special recipes. Little Kurt (he would have been 2 or 3 years old) who couldn't resist the temptation of all that yummy food, excitedly grabbed a Frito and scooped up some dip, which the cameraman captured (choosing that fun photo for the newspaper article)!
