"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup honey
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Cornstarch

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, honey and lemon in a small glass bowl. Microwave for 2 minutes (stirring every 20 - 30 seconds) or use a double boiler to heat the mixture for about 5 minutes, until sugar and honey are melted. Let cool to comfortable warmth. Make sure area to be sugared is clean and dry and dust lightly with cornstarch.
Use wooden stick to spread a thin layer of sugar mixture over a small area, in the direction of hair growth. Immediately apply a cotton strip and rub firmly. Stretch skin taut, exhale and quickly pull away the cotton strip against the direction of the hair growth. Reheat sugar mixture as required. Follow with a soothing calendula oil.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Sugaring is less painful than waxing because the paste sticks only to the hair and not the surrounding skin. Keep the sugared cloth strip close to skin as you remove it, avoid pulling strip outward from the body as this can cause bruising.
