2 c flour
1/2 t salt
1 t baking powder
1 t baking soda
1 c shortening
1 c granulated sugar
1 c brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1 t vanilla extract
2 c rolled oats
2 c chopped nuts or 1 c raisins, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Fold in oats and either nuts or raisins if you are using them. Drop by teaspoon on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake about 10 - 12 min at 375 deg
