A batch of meat sauce (see recipe in this book)
1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 (15 ounce) can pinto beans, drained and rinsed (or any other kind of beans you have on hand)
1 cup kernel corn (optional)
spices as needed see below

Directions:
Directions:
Mix beans, meat sauce, and corn (if using). Simmer for 15 minutes and add more spice if needed (will depend on how spicy your meat sauce is).
Note: that the chili spices are in Brenda's meat sauce recipe in this book. If using plain meat sauce you will need to add chili powder, cumin, ground cayenne, and/or hot sauce to taste.

Serve over rice (as they do in Saskatoon) or with crusty bread or buns (as they do in Ontario). Linda likes a sprinkle of crushed corn chips and grated old Cheddar cheese on hers.
