6 to 8 apples sliced
1/2 c raisins (optional)
1/3 c water

1 c rolled oats
1/2 c whole wheat or rye flour
1/2 c wheat germ
1/2 c butter
1/2 c brown sugar or honey
2 t cinnamon
Top with yogurt or vanilla ice cream

Variation substitute 3 to 4 c chopped rhubarb for the apple slices. Over the years I've used all kinds of fruit with this topping.

Put sliced apples in buttered 9 X 13 pan. sprinkle with raisins and water.
Combine the rest of ingredients.
sprinkle evenly over apples. Bake at 350º for 30 to 40 minutes or until apples are soft. Serve warm or cold, plain or with topping.
